Just because beach season is coming to an end doesn’t mean it’s time to slack on your fitness! Maintaining a consistent exercise routine is the best way to stay in shape, avoid winter weight gain, and keep your mind and body healthy. Lucky for you, Victoria has a great fitness scene, making it not just easy but fun to stay committed to your health. Check out some of our favourite fitness studios in Victoria below:

 

Livfit Studio

Livfit is a local fitness studio that emphasizes a holistic focus on fitness, nutrition, and mindfulness to achieve optimum health. They offer a wide range of classes from yoga and pilates to circuit and power training to suit any fitness level. The awesome thing about Livfit is that your first class is free! So if you’re in town visiting and want a great workout, head over to the studio and register for your first class to get your sweat on without breaking the bank. Livfit is just a 7-minute drive away from Days Inn by Wyndham Victoria Uptown, or a 35-minute walk if you want to get some extra cardio in!

 

SPINCO Victoria

SPINCO in downtown Victoria offers guided, full-body spin classes that go beyond riding a stationary bike. With their energetic instructors, awesome beats, and beautiful studio you’ll feel more like you’re at a party than at the gym. Classes are open to all fitness levels, so don’t worry if you’re a spin newbie! The instructor will be there every step of the way to guide and motivate you through the class. At SPINCO, you’ll get an excellent cardio workout while also toning your muscles and grooving to some great music. A single class drop-in pass is $20, or go on Fridays at 6:45 pm for a $10 community class that donates proceeds to local charity.

 

Barre Made

Barre has become the latest craze for low-impact, high-efficiency workouts! And for good reason: a barre workout lets you tone your muscles and improve your cardio without lifting heavy or putting pressure on your joints. This workout combines elements of ballet with pilates and yoga to improve your fitness and balance through isometric movements. There’s always great music playing and the instructors are always upbeat! This workout is open to all fitness levels, ages, and genders - no dance experience required! A single class drop-in pass is just $16, so bring a friend!

 

At Days Inn by Wyndham Victoria Uptown, we believe that just because you’re on vacation doesn’t mean you need to give up on working out! After all, exercise is great for boosting your mood and mental clarity and will get you energized for all the other exciting things on your itinerary. And if you want to get a workout in without leaving the hotel, you can head down to our very own fitness centre, which includes a treadmill, elliptical trainer, recumbent bike, and a weight machine. Or take some laps in our heated indoor pool for an efficient workout that’s invigorating and relaxing all at once.
