Celebrate Halloween in Victoria this year!

We know what you’re thinking! Your swim trunks haven’t even dried from that trip to the lake and you were just about to get the barbecue started. Summer isn’t over and you have the mosquito bites to show for it! But it isn’t too early to start planning your trip to Victoria for Halloween. Before you know it, September will have passed in the blink of an eye and the costume aisle of your local store will be looking bare and picked over. There’s no better time like the present to start making your plans for this Halloween, whether you plan to celebrate with friends or with the family.

Vintage Halloween Fair | September 20-21

Maybe you can’t make it to Victoria for the actual end-of-October Halloween celebrations, or maybe it’s just too soon for you to wrap your head around single-digit temperatures and 5 pm sunsets. You can still get into the spirit of Halloween in the upcoming month by checking out Victoria’s first Vintage Halloween Fair. On September 20th and 21st, you’ll be able to shop two floors of vintage, retro, antique, and up-cycled Halloween treasures (including costumes, jewelry, decorations, treats, and more)! There will also be live entertainment to get you in the festive mood, like a vintage Halloween photo booth, musical performances, fashion shows, and more.

Forest Spook-Tacular | October 19-20

Celebrate the arrival of Halloween while spending time outdoors! Between 11 am and 2 pm on October 19th and 20th, head out to the Francis/King Nature Centre & Regional Park for this fun, educational, and free event. There are guided walks at 11:15 am and 1:15 pm where you can “fill a cauldron with spooky treasures from the natural world” — what a great way for people of all ages to learn about the local ecosystem while getting in the spirit of Halloween. Be sure to wear your costumes for the chance to win a prize! There will also be other activities and crafts, making it a perfect Halloween outing for families and kids.

Haunted Zipline Tours | October 25-27

If you like an adrenaline rush for your Halloween, skip the haunted house this year and try something a little different, like a haunted zipline tour! This experience will be exciting and terrifying all at once. The tour operator, AdrenaLINE in Sooke, is just a 30-minute drive away from Days Inn Victoria Uptown. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by strange creatures who will continue to follow you in the dark as you hear odd tales and scary stories. Be sure to book your tickets in advance, as this tour is known to sell out quickly!

We know you’re probably still in summer mode (and perhaps still nursing that sunburn), but if you can’t wait for Halloween like us, there is a lot to get excited about in the coming months! Just picture coming in out of the cold weather and hitting up our heated pool and dry sauna, then cozying up under the covers in one of our comfortable rooms with a nice cup of tea. We don’t know about you, but we’re definitely excited for fall and Halloween to roll around!

As the weather starts to cool down and the darkness of winter begins to creep in, light up your evenings with laughter at a comedy show! There are some great shows lined up for November, so start planning your trip and book your tickets now — because a sold-out show is no laughing matter!

Just because beach season is coming to an end doesn’t mean it’s time to slack on your fitness! Maintaining a consistent exercise routine is the best way to stay in shape, avoid winter weight gain, and keep your mind and body healthy.
