120th ANNUAL ISLAND FARMS VICTORIA DAY PARADE

You read that right! For 120 years running, Victoria has celebrated the monarch who gave it its name by hosting a huge parade on Victoria Day. ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY YEARS. That’s a tradition worth celebrating.

Sponsored by Island Farms, the Victoria Day parade takes place May 21 and frequently attracts well over 100,000 people. That’s because it’s one of the most spectacular parades you will ever witness. Featuring the best marching bands in Canada as well as the United States, fun and creative floats from local businesses and non-profits, cultural shows, live performances, candy and clowns, this is the kind of parade you probably thought only existed on TV.

The parade route is long, and there’s really no bad seat in the house. So long as you show up on the parade route, you’ll be able to catch a great view of the hundreds of floats and performances as they pass by! The weather is usually pretty good in Victoria in May, but it’s advised you take a light rain coat (just in case!)

But the parade isn’t all! From 8 AM to 2PM, Victoria’s Centennial Square becomes “Celebration Square,” a site for free live performances, face painting and more! Take your kids and show them just how awe-inspiring and fun a classic parade can be. Full details and schedule available here!

Whatever brings you to Victoria, know that you’ll have a great stay at the Days Inn Victoria on the Harbour. We’re a short stroll from both the waterfront and the parade route! Even better, we’re pet-friendly so you can bring your puppy to the parade as well. Book your stay today for an amazing Victoria Day
