Upcoming events in Victoria: historic parties, cider, and Highland games

Oh, spring. After a long and chilly winter, it sure is a welcome sight to see the return of the sun, and the warmer temperatures that it brings with it. It’s possible to spend more time outside, everyone’s a little happier, and there are more events taking place. It’s a season when fun just seems to be in the air, and around every corner. Much to enjoy! If you’re taking a trip to the city towards the end of April and into May, you’ll have the chance to attend an old-school party, taste the region’s best cider, and enjoy the spectacle of a Victoria annual favourite. Party back in time

Do you ever feel like you were born in the wrong period? Do you look back to the 19th century and think, “that looks like fun!” On April 20, you’ll be able to whisk yourself back to the 1800’s by attending the Pride and Prejudice Easter Ball. Get dressed up and get involved -- you’ll have a great time.

Tasty cider

Love cider? Of course you do -- who doesn’t? On April 27, you’ll have a chance to sample all the delicious local varieties at the 4th annual Cider Social, which will take place at Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse. It’s sure to be a fun and tasty day!

Let there be games

There’s far too much to say about the Victoria Highland Games. We’ll just say this -- you have to check it out! Takes place at Topaz Park from May 18 to May 20.
