Celebrate good taste at Victoria Beer Week!

  • May 30, 2017

Come enjoy the best of BC beer at Victoria Beer Week! This nine day festival features plenty of chances for you to enjoy the fine ales and lagers of our province and beyond.

Produced by the Victoria Beer Week society, this event is designed to pair BC beers with some of Victoria’s most amazing chefs and culinary offerings.

The first major event takes place on March 2 at Victoria Public Market; Lift Off is a tasting featuring all the breweries participating in VBW. If you attend one event during Beer Week, this is PROBABLY the one to check out!

Care to hob nob with BC’s best brewers? Then come to Swan’s microbrewery on March 3 for the Brewmeister’s Brunch and network with the talented men and women who make this festival possible. Then later that night, head back to the Victoria Public Market for “Fishing for Beer,” which is another tasting… except this one features a full crab boil! Yum!

March 4, it’s time for some educational opportunities. Swan’s hosts “Beer School,” an introduction to the finer points of beer tasting; or if you’re more experienced, you can check out a comprehensive homebrewing workshop at Category 12 Brewing with brewmaster Michael Kuzyk.

And that’s just the first weekend! The week is chock a’block full of fun events, and the next weekend culminates with Friday Night Casks, a high-end tasting, at the Public Market, and on Saturday the Sooke Beer Run, a trip out to Sooke to explore their burgeoning craft beer scene with a designated shuttle bus!

It’s going to be a great time for beer lovers! Get tickets and full schedule here.

And if you’re not a beer fan, well… there are plenty of reasons to visit Victoria all year round. And when you do, we hope you’ll stay at the Days Inn Victoria on the Harbour. Our bright, beautiful rooms are just steps from Victoria’s downtown core and waterfront, making for a great place to stay. Book your room today.
