Celebrate Victoria Beer Week this March!

Hurrah! Victoria Beer Week is taking place from March 2 to 10, showcasing 50 craft breweries from around BC at a whole host of dynamic events across the city.
 
The nine-day festival highlights an impressive selection of BC craft breweries, while also educating Greater Victoria’s residents all about craft beer.
 
There will be some fabulous food pairings, tasting sessions, seminars and micro-events happening at various locations across the city throughout the week.

Here are four Victoria Beer Week events you simply can’t miss…
 

1. Lift Off Launch Event, March 2 at 7.30pm, Victoria Public Market

Taste more than 12 brand new beers (and even some unreleased ones) from some of BC’s finest breweries—they taste just fantastic with the treats on offer from Victoria Public Market’s vendors.

 
2. Beer School, March 4 at 11am at Swans Brewpub

This is the only school where drinking beer is part of the class! Learn more about the brewing process with the Swans’ head brewer or let Vancouver Island Brewing’s Danny Seeton introduce you to basic sensory theory and how various flavours interact in beer.
 

3. Beer, Cheese, More Beer, March 7, 7pm and 9pm, Victoria Public Market

Forget wine—beer and cheese are a match made in heaven! This is one of the most popular events at the festival and will be even better this year — it will be less crowded and much more focused on cheese-and-beer pairings. Featured breweries include Torchlight Brewing, Dageraad Brewing and Cannery Brewing.
 

4. Hoppy Birthday, March 10 at 8pm, Victoria Public Market

Grab a gorgeous gown or tux and get dressed up and celebrate five years of cheers with Victoria Beer Week. Party the night away with fellow beer-lovers to the live jazz of the Susannah Adams Trio.
