Fall Activities & Fall Colors sharing photos from #ExploreVictoria

There’s no mistaking it: there’s a definite chill in the air and fall is well and truly here. But don’t fear, because this is the time of year when Victoria’s many gorgeous parks burst into life with a symphony of intense, fiery, fall colours. So grab your comfy boots, camera and turtle neck and immerse yourself in a world of gold, red and yellow leaves…

1. Become Besotted at Beacon Hill

Beacon Hill Park is an easy stroll from downtown Victoria and the Japanese maple trees are just gorgeous there at this time of year. Snap a selfie with the roaming peacocks and capture breathtaking reflections in the park’s picturesque ponds.

2. Heal your Heart at Hatley Castle

It’s so easy to lose yourself in the fairy tale Japanese Garden at Hatley Castle. Isaburo Kishida created these stunning gardens back in 1910. Stroll along the winding paths and across the hump-backed bridge and stop for a selfie in front of the pretty pagoda.

3. Be in Love at Butchart

The Butchart Gardens’ Japanese Garden is the perfect place to find your zen this fall. See the autumn sun glow through the Japanese maples, which are a veritable kaleidoscope of fire at this time of year. Take the pathway alongside the Sunken Garden and snap a selfie as you are surrounded by a world of fall colours.

If you’re looking for a great Victoria hotel to stay in while you discover the city’s fabulous fall colours, The Days Inn Victoria Uptown is the perfect option. Offering breathtaking views of the Gorge Waterway by day and the sparkling lights of the BC Legislature Building by night, the hotel is a fantastic accommodation option for a long weekend getaway on Vancouver Island this fall.
